We're Back!

Just when you thought we had abandoned our cute little blog, we are here again! What a whirlwind the last couple of months have been. We moved from our home of 11 years into my parents home while we search for a new home. I thought that it might be an easier task but am finding it stressful since there isn't a great deal of choices where we are looking but I am hopeful that come spring there will be a lot of choices. We pray everyday that the Lord will lead us to the home we are supposed to be in. In the meantime, we are having fun spending time with Grandma and Grandpa. In November, our sweet little Eli turned 1 year old. He is the funniest little guy with the best head of hair ever! Dave refuses to even let me trim it!! He is a joy that has made our family complete.

We have had fun watching Eli learn to crawl, walk holding onto things and play with his brothers and sisters.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my brother's home with the family and it was so fun to see all the grandkids hanging out together. Dave and I went with Steve and Lisa to Kurt Bestor Christmas this year and we went to see the lights on Temple Square with Dave's family. Taylor and Kaisha just got engaged and it was so fun to see them interact with all the kids. We are so excited that she is joining our crazy clan!

I am really grateful for all of our family. We are excited to share Christmas this year at my parents and that we are blessed with our wonderful kids.

Homeless!

Sorry my blog has been non-existent for a few months. What a whirlwind this has been. As of yesterday, our little family is homeless! Not in a bad way, mind you, but we closed on the sell of our home and the new owners are moving in this weekend. We are so excited to find a new home and neighborhood for our family to grow in to but it was bitter-sweet to say the least. I did cry when we drove by tonight and we couldn't turn the key and walk around in our home. We lived there for 11 years. We brought 3 new babies into the home and left with 5 awesome kids and no room to turn around. It was time and we knew it but I am still sad. I will forever be grateful that we found such a wonderful neighborhood and ward to help raise our children in. Thanks to all our wonderful friends and neighbors. We will definatly miss you.

Family Fun!

The first two weeks of July have been fun and heartfelt at the same time. We were able to go as a family to St. George for the weekend of the 4th to visit our friends Megan and Josh Haycock and their girls Lydia and Brooklyn. Why would we go to St. George on the hottest weekend this year? One reason: Megan! She is one of my dearest friends and has been undergoing cancer treatments for the past four years, give or take a few surgeries. She has been such a faithful and strong person through this trial. She and I have been talking about attending the St. George Temple for a long time but because she hasn't been physically able to attend, she hadn't gone. She was finally able to go and with the help of a few angels, we were able to be together in the Celestial Room without having to do a full session which she is unable to do. What a blessing this was to attend the Temple and share this experience with her. She is an amazing person with whom I hope to be friends with through the eternities. Thanks Meg for the experience!

When we made it home on the 4th, we were able to go to Russ and Denise's home for dinner and fireworks with some of my family! We had such a wonderful time and completely wore ourselves out!!!

We were also able to spend the next weekend with my family. My brother Cam and sister-n-law Jessie, came up with an awesome weekend where it was all Sabin Family all the time! It is now commonly referred to as The Sabin Family Extravaganza! Friday morning the adults were able to go to the Draper Temple and do an endowment session together. What a beautiful temple and great experience. To Sharon: I think the Celestial Room rocks too!!  We went to Mimi's Cafe for brunch afterwards!  I went home to change and get the kids and the competition began! Each family was able to have their own colored bandanas and participated in miniature golf at Mulligans! The kids decided that we were the black-ops because of our bandanas. (Note the cool baby in the stroller. What a little rocker!!!)

The family decided to go up Provo Canyon for games. I opted out of that part in order to meet up with Dave who had to work on Friday:(  We were able to meet up with the family that night for an outdoor movie at my brother Jeff's home. It was so much fun! We watched How To Train Your Dragon and ate, and ate, and ate and ate some more. We played volleyball, the kids jumped on the tramp and we ate and ate and ate some more:)

We continued the family fun the next morning by meeting at the Joseph Smith Building to watch the new movie about Joseph Smith. I forgot how amazing the movies are there. We went to lunch at Red Robin (I continue to pray for the awesome servers) and prepared for our competition. What competition? The Sabin Family video scavenger hunt!!! We had a list of about twenty items that were worth differing amounts of points that our entire team had to do together while filming. Such items were: kissing a seagull, petting a horse, taking a picture with a prophet, run through the Gateway water, take a picture with John Stockton etc... As you can probably tell, all of this was done downtown from Temple Square to the Gateway and a bunch of stops inbetween. We had a blast!!! Later that night, we spent the evening at my brother Cameron's and we were able to watch each teams video footage of their activities. It was a blast but the best part of the night was having the opportunity to listen to my brothers and parents bear their testimonies and share their own thoughts about the family with each of us. I am certain that the children might forget some of what was said but I will never forget the words and feelings of that night. I am blessed with an amazing family and love them all!!!!!

Hi again!!!!

I know I know, it's been months. I'm back and have so much to add to our little family blog! The last couple of months have consisted of Sara's birthday, Dave's birthday, my birthday and a slew of family events.
In May, we reserved the Karaoke Room at Classic Skating for Sara's birthday party. She informed me months ago that she wanted a Pirates of the Caribbean party (probably because this was her favorite ride in Disneyland), but she wanted to sing Karaoke and roller skate. So we combined to make a Pirate, skating and singing party which turned out to be a lot of fun!!! My dear friend Caralee made her an awesome treasure chest cake that had edible chocolate coins, candy necklaces, Jolly Rancher jewels and graham cracker sand! It was so fun!

In June we celebrated Dave and my birthdays. Dave loves his birthdays (sarcasm) so we went to dinner and a movie and no party:( Someday he will let me throw a huge bash! For my birthday, Dave made the mistake of asking me what I wanted to do. I told him I wanted to go to The Karaoke Cafe and have a bunch of friends hang out. He reluctantly agreed and when we arrived the music flowed through him and he decided to sing!!! 4 Times!!!! His choice!!!!!  We had so much fun! I have no pictures though because that was one of the criteria for him going! Thanks Dave for singing:)

 

We had a soccer tournament in June which Braeden's team took first place!!! They did such a great job!
The kids had a great time getting ready for Father's Day! We went to the store and bought a bunch of candy to make him a candy poster. They wrote the entire thing themselves!!

Dave is such a great husband and father and we appreciate him so much!!


Our June ended with such a fun event! It was Anna's first dance concert ever! She was a chicken and danced so great! She loves to go to dance class and is convinced that she will grow up to be a ballerina!
